Aurora is a town in Beaufort County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 520 at the 2010 is located at .According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.7km2, of which 2.4km2 is land and 0.3km2, or 9.60%, is of the census of 2000, there were 583 people, 265 households, and 169 families residing in the town. The population density was 615.8 people per square mile (236.9/km²). There were 316 housing units at an average density of 333.8 per square mile (128.4/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 51.29% White, 47.51% African American, 0.34% from other races, and 0.86% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.37% of the were 265 households out of which 23.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 43.8% were married couples living together, 15.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.2% were non-families. 33.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 18.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.20 and the average family size was 2.81.
